About Emma

Emma Lehnhardt is the Program Planning & Control Manager for NASA's Gateway Program, which will be a space station in orbit around the Moon and part of the Artemis campaign. In this role Emma leads the team responsible for all the business operations of the Gateway Program (including budget and resources management, acquisition strategy and contracts, schedules, cost estimating and assessment, information technology, and external engagement). Previously, she led the NASA-wide process of budget formulation at NASA Headquarters and has also worked at the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, the Space Policy Institute, and consulted for government agencies and aerospace companies.  Emma holds an MA in International Science and Technology Policy from The George Washington University and attended the Space Studies Program of the International Space University.

She is a fitness enthusiast, advanced open water scuba diver, married to Kris Lehnhardt, and mom of a chocolate lab named MECO.
